Globetrotters

I surprised the kids last week and took them to see The Harlem Globetrotters.  Josh had gone out of town and I was a little nervous about taking them to Thompson Boling by myself but I did it!  I surprised them about an hour before the game and told them I was taking them.  They were sooooo excited!!  I remember going when I was a kid and I absolutely loved it.  I think Morgan and I enjoyed it more than Jackson did....he was all about the basketball and Morgan and I were all about the comedy.  We laughed so hard!  It is so fun to make memories with your children just like you had when you were a child.

Florida with Daddy

A few weeks ago Josh and Jackson flew to Florida for the weekend.  They stayed with Josh's aunt in Melbourne and Jackson got to do some really fun things. He went fishing off the pier and off the beach.  He also got to go on an airboat ride and hold a little alligator.  So cool!  The highlight of his trip (and the reason for going) was going to see the Orlando Magic play on Sunday afternoon.  Jackson is a huge basketball fan so it was a dream come true to go see an NBA game.  They played the Lakers which made it even cooler in my opinion.  I'm so glad Jackson gets special time with his Daddy.  It also gave me special time with Morgan.  We went shopping all day and then had pedicures.  It was her first pedicure and she thought it was fabulous!

Craft Day with Gran

My mom invited Morgan to a Craft Day in Norris.  Morgan goes to Craft Camp there every year and spends the week with  my mom.  They had a special Craft Day a few weeks ago and Mom invited Morgan and told her to bring a friend.  Her friend Josie does an after school knitting class with her so since they were going to knit she decided to invite Josie.  They spent the afternoon learning to knit with straws, ate chocolate and made some other crafts as well.  I'm so glad Morgan gets to do special things like this with her grandmother.

Jackson's 8th Birthday

My sweet boy turned 8 on Dec. 31, 2010. I can't believe he is 8 years old.  He loves all things related to sports.  He watches ESPN on a daily basis and can name every college team and its mascot.  He knows names of professional players and stats on them.  He wanted a basketball party this year. He only wanted to get his friends together and play basketball for hours.  So, that's what we did.  We had a Celtics cake made and he wore his Celtics jersey.  It was exactly what he wanted!

Snow, glorious snow!

Finally we got enough snow to really play in it.  I have been wanting it so badly for my children. I have such great memories from childhood of playing in the snow and I have wanted it for my own children. Kingston never gets snow and if we do it is only a small amount where you can still see the grass.  We have had the best week going sledding with friends and just hanging out together.

Christmas 2010

We had a great Christmas. My mom came and spent about a week with us.  The kids got everything they asked for and more. We are so blessed and thankful for all that we have and especially for friends and family.  We are blessed to have such a wonderful church family as well.

Wilderness Lodge

We went to the Wilderness of the Smokies with Josh's family.  The kids had an absolute blast riding the water rides and bodysurfing.  It was great fun for our whole family.
